Cookie Policy
Version 2026-01-v1. Here is everything this site stores on your device, and what you can do about it.
1. What a cookie is, and why this covers rather more
A cookie is a small file that a site keeps in your browser so as to recognise it later. The law does not speak only of cookies: it speaks of storing information on your device, whether through cookies or through other mechanisms such as local storage.
That is why this page also covers what we store without cookies. It struck us as dishonest to call it a «cookie policy» and hide inside it the things that technically are not one.
2. What does not need your permission
There are two things we store because without them the site cannot do what you ask of it. Neither identifies you, and neither leaves your browser.

3. What does need your permission
These do not load until you accept them. If you decline, they are not even downloaded: it is not that they sit there unused.

Google and Meta are United States companies. The transfer of data relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If that worries you, declining is a perfectly reasonable answer — the diagnostic works in exactly the same way.
4. How to change your mind
Whenever you like, and at no cost. Your choice is remembered, and changing it back is a single click:
You can also delete the cookies from your browser, or browse in private mode. And if your browser blocks storage, we will ask you again: we would rather ask once too often than take a «yes» for granted.
5. What happens if you decline
Nothing, except that we stop knowing how you got here. The diagnostic, the blog and all the rest work just the same, at the same speed and with nothing held back. No part of the site sits behind an «accept to continue».
